Education and Career Options

Most people have plenty of education options. Unless you live in a small town, or you don't have any money at all to put towards your education, there are local schools, colleges in other towns, and online classes that you are able to enroll in.

You can think outside the box too. You don't have to become a doctor, lawyer or accountant, you could become a nurse or a plumber or a chef. There are lots of options. Most of them involve training. And training almost always involves school. So enrolling in a school somewhere is most likely what you will have to do, but it doesn't have to be a fancy university.

You can even take classes online. Some people have the misconception that online schools are cheap and easy. They are neither. Just like campus colleges, online schools charge tuition. You can save money and time, however, because you don't have to live in a dorm or commute to classes. Online classes are not right for everybody, but they work really well for some people.

Some states have more options than others. While a state like Texas has a lot of colleges, they are so spread out from each other that most students don't have too much choice as to which one to attend. Students in city like New York City or Chicago, however, end up having more realistic options when it comes to school choices. Read more about education choices in Texas.

Canada offers college options to US citizens too. They have good colleges and the tuition isn't prohibitive either.
